Former UK X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos was yesterday arrested over drug pushing claims.
The 24-year-old singer, was arrested by appointment at London’s Belgravia police station, alongside close friend and rapper Mike GLC.
The arrests - on suspicion of offences which carry jail terms - come after Metropolitan Police officers confirmed they were “considering” information claiming the star had fixed an £820 cocaine deal and boasted of her drug dealer connections.
Tulisa was allegedly filmed offering to supply cocaine through a friend at upmarket Nobu restaurant in London’s Mayfair.
A 35-year-old man who was also arrested was rapper Mike GLC, who was recorded delivering the drugs to a suite at the Dorchester Hotel and boasting that the cocaine was “top of the line”.
The pair were both later released on police bail after until July pending further inquiries after several hours of questioning.
After being bailed, defiant rapper Mike insisted that the pair were “innocent”, and claimed the footage had been “taken out of context”.
He said: “Anyone can edit or chop things together on video. The truth will come out in the end. I don’t want to go into much more detail.
“I am going home to be with my family. This is ruining my life. I am not a drug dealer. I have never sold drugs in my life.”
And he claimed Tulisa had “not done anything”, adding: “I can’t think why there should not be a reason for her to come back.
“I’ve been released on bail. I can’t speak for Tulisa and I don’t know what her position is. It’s two separate things.”
It is understood she was held in a cell at the central London station where a mouth swab DNA sample and her fingerprints were taken, while plain clothes detectives scoured her luxurious £6 million mansion in Hertfordshire, for evidence.
The officers, two men and two women, later left the five bedroom gated home carrying to bulging bags marked “police evidence” after a 75 minute search.
Video footage obtained by a Sunday newspaper showed Tulisa claiming she could source “whatever you want” when asked about drugs, adding: “Half my phone book sells it. Of course I can get it for you.
“Half the guys I know are drug dealers.”
The video saw Tulisa continuing to explain how she avoids attracting suspicion when discussing drugs with associates, by calling and asking for “sweets”.
She explained: “We talk in lingo. Like we know what. I can’t call him and go, ‘Have you got any?’ I’ll say, ‘Hi, have you got any sweets’, and he’ll be like, ‘Um, how many sweets do you want?’
“I’ll say, ‘Oh just a nice bag of sweets,’ and he goes, ‘How big?’ “I’ll say ‘maybe like four sweets,’ and I’m referring to what he knows is what. Like we have a whole lingo.”
In another secretly recorded video, Tulisa boasted of her past as a crack cocaine dealer claiming she was able to avoid suspicion because she was “pretty” and “female”.
She described how her friends were “shotting” crack - street for selling - and explained: “They would give me the drugs, I’d get a cut. I would go on the streets and the Feds would never suspect me.”
Yesterday it was revealed how her alleged involvement in drug dealing could cost her £1 million in endorsements, including signature clothing ranges with high street retailer Bank and a personalised perfume range.
This comes just weeks after The X Factor’s boss Simon Cowell confirmed she had been axed from the hit ITV singing show..”
Claiming to be an “inspiration” to youngsters from tough backgrounds, Tulisa has built an impressive career with her image as a council estate girl who rose to stardom.
She took her first steps to fame in 2000 when she formed N-Dubz with cousin Dino “Dappy” Contostavlos and friend Richard “Fazer” Rawson.
They had eight top 40 hits before splitting up to pursue solo projects in 2011.
She became a household name that year when Simon Cowell gave her a role on the X Factor judging panel.
She went on to win as mentor to girl group Little Mix.
As a solo artist, her first single Young topped the charts, but debut album The Female Boss went on to flop.
Camden-born Tulisa, 24, has admitted problems in her youth including drug abuse, violence and gang culture.
She faced further controversy last year when a sex tape filmed by ex-boyfriend Justin Edwards appeared online.
