Miss Nigeria 2013 marks Independence with traffic wardens

Miss Nigeria 2013, Miss Ezinne Akudo Anyaoha, on Tuesday marked Independence Day with traffic personnel at Adeola Odeku Road / Ahmadu Bello Way intersection in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The reigning beauty queen spent over an hour assisting the traffic personnel, comprising the Nigeria Police and LASTMA, to direct traffic at the busy intersection.
Undaunted by the scorching sun, she struck a majestic pose as she methodically directed traffic flowing in different directions. Her smart delivery attracted a large crowd of onlookers even as she got cheers from passing motorists and other road users.

Speaking with journalists, the queen said she decided to join the traffic personnel on Independence Day to encourage their efforts and to also stress the importance of a safe road user culture.

She said she was able to overcome her initial fright and warmed up to the task within a few minutes.

She urged Nigerians to drive with care and to ensure that they respect traffic control officers.

Tuesday's road show is one in a series of public endeavours outlined by the queen for her reign.
